Exploring Yoga as a Creative Practice

We all come to yoga for different reasons, and it gives us so much in return. Physically, it can help build strength, flexibility, and support health and longevity as we move through life. For many of us, it’s also a mind practice, a chance to slow down, to step away from the busyness of everyday life and find a little space.
And of course there is the spiritual side: wisdom handed down through thousands of years that can help us live more connected, authentic lives.
But do we think of yoga as a creative practice?
Lately, I’ve realised that this is where a lot of my creativity lives. In the artful sequencing and the journey of the class. In the language used to shape the class itself. The readings that find their way in. The playlist, the lighting, even the scent in the room. All of these small elements weave together to create something holistic, a practice that can nourish us on many levels.
The creative side of yoga is something I’m becoming more and more interested in. When we practise regularly, what might we unlock in ourselves? What ideas, feelings, or expressions might start to surface?
With that in mind, I’m very excited to be in the early stages of creating a series of workshops, bringing yoga together with local practitioners, artists, writers and more to explore some fusion experiences. Keep your eyes peeled as this develops (it's early early stages). And if you’d be interested in collaborating, I’d love to hear from you
